CCAA Inaugural Breeder's Cup
Winners Trophy
The Breeder's Cup is an event that the CCAA came up with to reward the top dogs in the country and provide them with a platform to compete against each other head to head under a panel of expert judges. It is our intention that this will become an annual event that rivals the CCAA National Specialty.
The top 20 Cane Corsos in the AKC breed rankings on December 31, 2011 will qualify to enter. Additionally the top 5 CCAA ranked Cane Corsos from the previous 3 years will also qualify as well as special events winners and club titlist from recent years. Invitations will be sent out in January to the qualifiers along with an entry form. An invitation does not constitute an entry; you must enter the Breeders Cup by March 1, 2012 to participate.
There will be three judges: an AKC Cane Corso judge, a breeder judge and either a handler or foreign judge or all-rounder. Each entrant will be called into the ring individually, judged and scored. The entrants will appear in the show brochure and on the club's Nationals webpage.
This is not an AKC sanctioned show, no AKC points will be awarded to the winners. The CCAA will, however, weigh the points more heavily toward club titles for the breed winner.
The 2012 Breeders’ Cup will be held at the Nationals Host hotel conference room on Thursday March 29, 2012 from 8PM to 10PM. This event is a BLACK TIE affair (not mandatory but strongly suggested)
The 2012 Breeders’ Cup judges are; Mariano DeCicco, Nancy Amgurgy and Daniele Ledoux-Starzyk
