Gay Kuehnel-Hisatake             (check box to vote for Gay Kuehnel-Hisatake)
I have been involved with the sport of purebred dogs since the 1970’s, and have bred, owned, and finished 32 Alaskan Malamute Champions, and 3 Schipperkes. The majority of my dogs are owner handled and have been #1 in their breed in the NY/NJ Area, have had Specialty wins, competed in the Top 20 Event at our National, and placed in the Group. My son participated as a Junior Handler for approximately 5 years, and continues to help with the dogs when he is home.
I began Judging in 2000, and am currently eligible to judge 17 of the Working Breeds. My assignments have included three Alaskan Malamute Specialties, including one in Australia, and two Siberian Husky Specialties. I have enjoyed judging numerous large Cane Corso entries at Rare Breed shows prior to their acceptance into the American Kennel Club, and have had several assignments since their arrival.
Last year I retired after 45 years of full time employment as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a lifetime member of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America, a member of the Schipperke Club of America, and on the Board of Directors for the Monticello and Wallkill Kennel Clubs.
I am honored to be considered as a candidate to Judge your National Specialty.

Cathy Daugherty             (check box to vote for Cathy Daugherty)
I started in dogs in 1976 – Collies and Shelties. In 1978, my husband and I switched breeds and began a long career in Belgian Sheepdogs. Since that time, we have bred over 70 champions including numerous group and specialty winners as well as a BIS dog. We have also had the honor of going Best of Breed at the World Show in Milan in 2000 as well as RCACIB at the World Show in Amsterdam in 2002. We have won top awards at Nationals in the US, Canada and Belgium.
I began judging in 1995 and presently I judge all herding and working dogs ( and groups) as well as Best in Show, Miscellaneous and juniors.
I was first introduced to the Cane Corso in 1998 where I judged at a rare breed show and have had the opportunity to watch the breed increase in numbers and improve over the years. I have given many Cane Corsos Best in Shows and Reserve Best in Shows at the rare breed venues. When Cane Corso were accepted into AKC, I applied to judge them and was surprised to find that I had judged over 240 since first being introduced to them.
I have not only seen the breed in the US, but also in Europe and Argentina. This past February, I judged in Spain and although I did not judge Cane Corso, I had the opportunity to see some beautiful dogs from that area and discuss the breed with Rafeal Malo Alcrudo whom I consider my primary mentor in this breed.
You have a wonderful breed and have done a fabulous job as breeders and exhibitors. I am honored to be on your list to judge your National and hope you will consider me.

Nancy Amburgey            (check box to vote for Nancy Amburgey)
I acquired my first Akita in 1988, quickly becoming interested in AKC sports, exhibiting both in conformation and obedience. I have bred and handled many Champions including Top Twenty competitors, specialty winners, National Specialty BOS and AOM’s. I served as President and Vice president of the Ohio based breed club, Vice president of the Akita Cub of America and as chair or member of several other national club committees. Additionally, I was an original member the ACA Breeders’ Education Committee, putting together an educational book for breeders. I am currently the ACA National Specialty Show Chair and a member of the ACA Judges’ Education Committee, several judges’ groups and two all-breed kennel clubs. I am an AKC judge and was selected by the ACA membership to judge Best of Breed at the 2008 Akita Club of America National Specialty.
I became acquainted with Cane Corsos in 2008 when I was asked to judge at a Rare Breed Show. I have attended many CCAA judges’ seminars over the last couple of years and judged the clubs Regional Specialty in Ohio last year. I like the breed, finding it similar in intelligence and temperament to the Akita. As soon as they became recognized by AKC, I applied to judge them in that venue as well.
I am the proud owner of 2 Akitas, Brat and Pippa, a rescue cat, Kenny , and a rescue Chihuahua, Tinker.
