The Cane Corso is historically a dog designed to work as a utility farm dog, herd guardian as well as a protector of the family.
The CCAA has put together a program to highlight the working abilities and temperament that we have all come to know and love.
At this time we are recognizing all AKC obedience events, Rally obedience, Schutzhund, Herding Instinct Test and weight pull.
The CCAA working committee has also put together a working temperament test for owners to evaluate their dog’s capabilities and natural instincts. Those tests are the TEC 1, 2 & 3.
The ROM (Register Of Merit) was designed to highlight the total dog. To qualify for the ROM your corso must have earned their Championship, TEC 1 and an AKC CD. (beauty, temperament and working ability)
Temperament
The Cane Corso as a protector of his property and owners is unequaled. Intelligent he is easily trained. Noble, majestic and powerful his presence is impressive. He is docile and affectionate to his owner, loving with children and family.
