Congratulations to GCHB CH Red Rock Canyon's Logan Rocks who accumulated 181 points during 2017, 165 from Best of Breed wins and 16 from Best of Opposite wins. CCAA Puppy of the Year is awarded to any dog or bitch owned by a CCAA member in good standing during the pertaining year, who has achieved the most points in the pertaining calendar year (Jan. 1 - Dec. 31) and is still under the age of 2 years on or by Dec. 31 of the aforementioned year. Points are earned 1 per dog defeated in BOB wins and/or BOS wins. Congratulations to GCHP CH Palazzo's All By Himself Blue Ridge CGC TKN who accumulated 1,015 points during 2017, 986 from Best of Breed wins and 29 from Best of Opposite wins. CCAA Dog of the Year is awarded to any male dog owned by a CCAA member in good standing during the pertaining year, who has achieved the most points in the pertaining calendar year (Jan. 1 - Dec. 31). Points are earned 1 per dog defeated in BOB wins and/or BOS wins. To be considered for Dog of the Year, the membership of at least one owner needs to be in good standing with no lapse from the year prior to the pertaining year. The list below details each Cane Corso who has qualified to be invited to the 2018 CCAA Breeder’s Cup Invitational, which will be held on Friday, June 1st, 2018. The 2018 CCAA Breeder’s Cup Invitational will be part of the 2018 National Specialty events being held in conjunction with the Victory Lane Classic Cluster in Concord, North Carolina. The CCAA Breeder’s Cup Invitational is an event judged by a panel of three judges. The 2018 judging panel will be announced when finalized. The highest combined score is the winner. The format of this event gives each dog time to show off individually and be viewed by the judges and the fancy in an intimate setting. This is the highest level of conformation competition for the Cane Corso breed in the USA and the invitees are commended on their hard work and success in qualifying. Again for 2018 we will feature a People’s Choice award, which is an exciting opportunity for spectators to vote for his or her favorite exhibitor. For participants and spectators alike, this is the best showcase for the top dogs in our breed. Cocktail attire is encouraged but comfort and fun are paramount to any dress code! Formal invitations will be sent out by or before the beginning of March to each of the dogs listed below. Invitations will be sent to the primary owner listed in AKC's records and the current address provided by the AKC, unless our membership records reflect a more current address. The Cane Corso Association of America’s 2018 National Specialty weekend will be held in conjunction with the Victory Lane Classic Cluster in Concord, North Carolina, from May 31st to June 3rd at the Cabarrus Center. The Cabarrus Center is a modern, state-of-the-art event center with a first class banquet facility.
In a team effort with the CCAA, the host All Breed Kennel Clubs, the Carolina Working Group Association and the Cane Corso Club of the Carolinas (CCCC), participants will have a unique opportunity to show eight times in four days.
