The 2018 CCAA Election Oversight Committee (EOC) has now closed the 2018 CCAA election.  Some positions were contested and others were not.  The EOC is now working on the changes to the bylaws, which will be up for vote very shortly.  The election results for contested positions are contained in the report below.

Congratulations to MACH Firehorse Falcon MX MXJ MXB MJB NAP NJP CGC TDI TT NW1 aka *GLOVER* for winning the 2018 CCAA Member’s Choice Award! Thank you to all the members who took the time to vote for this award! This was an impressive race among 2 very deserving candidates! Glover will be presented with his plaque at the Awards Banquet at our upcoming 2019 National Specialty!  Congratulations to Brian Marino for Glover’s achievements! Below is Glover’s impressive bio:
 
"To say Glover is a special dog would be an understatement. He has always had that special something that can't be put into words, but I'll try my best.
 
Glover has such a confident, enthusiastic and engaging personality that he draws people to him and makes fans wherever he goes and with whoever he meets. Several times over the years, he's shown that amazing personality when he worked the CCAA booth for the AKC Meet the Breeds in New York City to help both impress and educate the public about our breed. Due to his confident and stable temperament, he was able to pass his CGC, TDI and ATTS tests with ease.
 
His confident, balanced and stable temperament really shines through when he is lying down surrounded by children for the local elementary school reading program, mentoring other dogs to build their confidence so they can reach their full potential or wowing crowds doing agility and training demonstrations at local community events, dog training clubs and pet expos.
 
Since Glover first started training at just a few months old, he has exhibited an outstanding work ethic and relentless drive, combined with uncanny intelligence and athleticism beyond what anyone could dream of. Those talents have carried him through a performance career that first started in 2012 when he received his K9Nosework NW1 title, becoming the first Cane Corso to have a scentwork certification.
 
Around the same time, we started competing in AKC Agility. That is where Glover first gave a glimpse into a higher natural ability for Agility than any Corso that has preceded him. Since then, he has amassed 13 AKC Agility titles and over 100 Q's, becoming - by far - the most titled Cane Corso in the history of AKC Agility.
 
He has represented for the breed 3 times against the top agility dogs in the country at the AKC Agility Invitational in Orlando. In addition to representing for the breed at the Invitational several times, in 2016 he became first and only Cane Corso to qualify for and compete at the Master Agility Championship at Westminster.
 
Glover even went on to become the face of the Master Agility Championship the following year when he was featured in a Westminster Kennel Club and Cosequin ad campaign as an example of the training, dedication and athleticism needed to compete at the highest levels of Agility.

This year, Glover added yet another first to his resume when he made history being the first Cane Corso to obtain the elusive MACH (Master Agility Champion) title, making him the only non-conformation Cane Corso to become an AKC Champion.

After 6 years at the top of his game competing against the best Agility dogs in the country and blazing a path for others to follow, Glover will be retiring from Agility at the beginning of the year after he tries to set the bar a little higher one last time.
 
Putting all the fancy titles and letters aside, Glover always represents the Cane Corso breed outside the ring with an ease and professionalism that has turned many skeptics in the dog world into advocates. Not just with the ability to compete with and beat any other breed, but to also see beyond his look and stereotype.
 
And at the end of the day Glover always comes through where it counts, with an unwavering love and commitment to his family that no title or ribbon could ever show. At home when he's not training, he will be out running the property making his presence known to keep the flock of chickens safe, hanging out with rest of the pack and cats or hiking in the mountains with his annoying Chihuahua sidekick. Sometimes you may also find him obsessing over one of his orphaned litters of kittens that he fosters for local rescues.
