Attention all CCAA Members – On April 24th all members who have chosen to vote via email will receive their 2023 Constitution and Bylaw Amendment Ballot. For members who have chosen to vote via mail please look for your ballots to arrive via USPS mail. The vote will remain open for 45 days and a favorable vote of 2/3 of the members who return valid ballots is required for an amendment to pass.
There are many changes that the Bylaw committee and the CCAA board have for your consideration. The ballot is laid out with underlines as additions and strike-throughs being removals. In addition to these, you will also see some areas which are highlighted in yellow. Those changes are the ones that the AKC is requiring. If those AKC required changes are passed, the CCAA will be able to move forward with the AKC and become a full AKC Parent club. Thank you for Voting! The list below details each Cane Corso who has qualified to be invited to the 2023 CCAA Breeder’s Cup Invitational, which will be held in July 2023. The 2023 CCAA Breeder’s Cup Invitational will be part of the 2023 National Specialty events being held in conjunction with the Houston World Series of Dog Shows in Houston, Texas. The CCAA Breeder’s Cup Invitational is an event judged by a panel of three judges. The 2023 judging panel will be announced when finalized. The highest combined score is the winner. The format of this event gives each dog time to show off individually and be viewed by the judges and the fancy in an intimate setting. This is the highest level of conformation competition for the Cane Corso breed in the USA and the invitees are commended on their hard work and success in qualifying. Again for 2023 we will feature a People’s Choice award, which is an exciting opportunity for spectators to vote for his or her favorite exhibitor. For participants and spectators alike, this is the best showcase for the top dogs in our breed. Event details, logistics, the online entry system and formal mailed invitations are all in process. Invitees have been listed in alphabetical order by kennel name. Invitations will be sent to the primary owner listed in AKC's records and the current address provided by the AKC. To be considered for CCAA Performance Breeder of the Year, the following rules apply: The breeder of record of any dog or dogs accruing the most total points will be awarded the title "CCAA Performance Breeder of the Year". In order to be considered, there must be a minimum of 400 points, ALL of which must be earned out of the category “Sport” as per the current CCAA Performance Points Schedule during the calendar year (January 1st to December 31st). This threshold is subject to board re-evaluation once points submission deadline is met. The breeder must be a CCAA member in good standing at the time of competition.
