Congratulations to Liberty’s AnnieOakley for winning the 2016 CCAA Member’s Choice Award! Thank you to all the members who took the time to vote for this award! This was a very tight race among 5 very deserving candidates! AnnieOakley will be presented with her plaque at the Awards Banquet at our upcoming National Specialty in April in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania! Congratulations to Tina Biello, Joe Hovorka & Renee Cuzzo for AnnieOakley’s achievements! Below is AnnieOakley’s impressive bio: Liberty’s AnnieOakley “Although she hadn't yet earned any titles before she passed at just 2 ½ years old, Liberty’s AnnieOakley touched the lives of not only the entire Cane Corso Community but thousands more who read about her, saw her on TV, social media or were blessed to be in her short life. Born 12/20/2013, AnnieOakley was quickly deemed a “freak” because she was so incredibly smart and talented. AnnieOakley graduated AKC STAR puppy school and advanced obedience before 6 months old. She learned to swim and began competitive DockDiving through DockDogs.com at just 9 months old. By competitive dock diving, I mean her first jump off a dock was at a regional event and over 11’. She quickly soared passed the novice and junior class and earned her Senior class title but for a brief time because she excelled into the Masters class which is distance over 19’11”, the first Cane Corso to break the 19’ barrier and first to be Master titled in any of the three competitive dock diving venues! Her personal best jump measured by camera was 21’6”! AnnieOakley was the trend setter of the sport. Cane Corso owners wanted to try theirs at it and non-owners wanted a Cane Corso because they realized the variety of utility functions this breed has. In one year DockDogs went from one registered competitor to 10. A week after she passed she was honored at their northeast regional event with a moment of silence and the “dogless toy toss” into the pool. AnnieOakley turned heads in the DockDogs Community and was one of 11 dogs nationwide to be honored with an invite to jump in a demo for Blue Buffalo’s NASDAQ I.P.O. Stock offerings in NYC Times Square 2015. Annie stole the show with her spunk and drew crowds of hundreds with demo jumps over 20’ and over 22’. In between jumps she wowed the crowds with her loving personality blowing up social media with pictures taken by bystanders. It was AnnieOakley’s pinnacle time in her life and she wasn't even 2 years old. AnnieOakley was also excelling in Agility, Canine disc and even made appearances in the AKC show rings. Her first show at only 9 months old was awarded “Best of Opposite” and “Winners Bitch”. Her second appearance just over 2 years old was 3-point major. Beyond the spunk and athletics was a Cane Corso who had a heart of gold. As Pro handler Sara Gregware quotes, “Annie lived life to its fullest every day” the aura around her brought joy to everyone she crossed paths with. During the winter of 2015, Annie took the lead role in the creation of a YouTube video that went viral. It was titled “Peace Through The Eyes Of A Dog” and featured Annie spreading happiness to many with her famous hugs and charming personality . Much of the filming took place in a Church with a choir where she shone as the video was choreographed to the song “Let There Be Peace on Earth”. Annie also represented the CCAA at the 2016 Westminster “Meet the Breeds” where she once again stole the show with her happy go lucky demeanor. The legacy Liberty’s AnnieOakley left in her sudden passing spans other countries outside the USA. She was a remarkable ambassador for the Cane Corso community. In her last ride as a nominee for the CCAA People's Choice, may she remind us all to have gratitude in each day and live life to its fullest. Our Corsos are all about their “jobs” and with each vote, AnnieOakley will Rest In Peace knowing she did her job well. Thank you for taking the time to read this brief history of Liberty’s AnnieOakley and considering voting for a Corso who had no titles but who left an enormous pawprint in the Cane Corso Community.” Comments are closed.
